GOOD JOB: arms workforce as the city grows

WARRNAMBOOL's labour market continues to grow with your workforce growing faster than the average State and nationals and younger adults choosing the coastal city as its home.

More than half of the population has a job, with almost 18000 persons 15 years and above in employment and around 930 listed as officially unemployed.

Major construction projects and increasing demand for professionals and service industries has spurred much growth.

Since 2005 the city's workforce has grown at an average annual rate above 2. 1 percent national and figure two percent of the State.

He grew up in a middle 3.4 percent between 2005 and 2009, and 2. 3 percent for September last year. The biggest increase was in 2006, with an increase of 6. 1 percent.

"It is wonderful to see that strong local economy of Warrnambool is encouraging people in their 40s grow their careers and families in Warrnambool.

"The city is to seize the opportunity presented by this growth, which in turn allows the Council and the governments offer a wider range of services and facilities to support a growing population.

"These data will be further evidence that Warrnambool is seen as a great place to live and work."

Mr Anson said that the main factors of workforce expansion could be assigned the diversity of local economy catering to largest population and a regional centre in retail, health, social services and education.

Most professional Services, construction, food processing, administration and accommodation were also assigned as growth factors.
