New entity to smooth the transition from IR

A new entity of industrial relations was created to help unincorporated Queensland employers whenever a change to the system of Federal job fair labour relations put on 1 February.

Major employers Queensland was launched by major Warren Turner as a subscription-based website of mem-bership dedicated to provide information and advice that is easily understood and designed specifically to meet the specific needs of rural employers.

"There's an enormous amount of confusion around the new system to go, and main objective of the main employers Queensland concise is to provide information in a user-friendly format," Mr Turner said.

"We offer a wide range of services based on mem-bership including award and content of legislation and obligations, advice on negotiating agreements and representations in conflict situations".

Mr Turner said that with the introduction of labour relations legislation of fair work Australia introduced from January 1 (employers incorporated), there has been a change in the process of going, with the focus moving from traditional award-based processes for a more direct relationship of employer/employee reflected through the introduction of employment contracts.
